Out of Sight
When I came across your photograph,
I knew I'd not forgotten for a moment,
in three years, the crinkle of your upper lip,
and how your finger-nail had traced
a vein along my arm. The mind is not
a shoe-box storing bric-a-brac
but stained and leaded glass
whose reds and yellows flare up in the sun.
